An interesting and well written article on the subject of China's push to make Mandarin a more universal part of the geo-political structure. This will be of particular interest to some of the Chi-lings I know out there.

Flowers for Algernon.

Taking a break from some of my recent heavy reading, I read 'Flowers for Algernon' yesterday. I hadn't read it since Junior High School, and it was one of my favorite books at the time. I was surprised to find a character named Fay that I don't remember being in the story at all. Whole sections of the book are missing either from my memory, or from my experience ( or both, if that's how you see it ). I think the version I read in Junior High was abridged ( read censored ), thanks to an argument the author makes about polygamy.

Alan Moore rants about the weakness of liberal America and the travesty of film adaptation in this interview with MTV. Also mentioned: Neil Gaiman is directing his own adaptation of 'Death: The High Cost of Living' for the big screen. That should be interesting.
